This is a story about making other creatives and marketers smile. Merch for Marketers is a merch store for stressed-out creatives in the marketing industry—a place that creatives can go to get a little respite after a day of being told to “make the logo bigger” or just “work their magic”.

Once upon a brand
Working in marketing and the creative industry isn’t always about crafting much-discussed sentimental John Lewis ads. It’s often being told “add your magic” to a poster made by someone without any design or marketing experience, and having to explain why it just really won’t work like that. NathMakesThings and I decided it was time something was done to make stressed-out creatives feel a bit more powerful, and have a bit of laugh along the way.
We embarked on a journey
We searched high and low to gather the kind of humorous phrases that only our audience would get. The idea was to create products that would make no sense to those outside of the creative and marketing fields of work, but provide that knowing smile for those inside the profession. We set about creating a store that’s the perfect in-joke.
